Report with updates from the school sisters
School in Congo and at Maison de Paix resumed on Monday, September 5; at Maison de Paix, parents continue to arrive requesting to enroll their children, but the numbers are already very high:
60 children in preschool, divided into three classes, and 130 children in primary school, divided into 4 classes, from first to fourth grade.
The fee that families pay for the Maison de Paix school amounts to 20,000 Congolese francs (approximately $10) every three months, but unfortunately, some families cannot afford it.
Sister Gloria, the school director, reports that the school’s costs are numerous and high, especially now that the number of children has doubled compared to last year;
these costs relate to facility maintenance, cleaning, grounds keeping, school materials, school furnishings, food, and staff salaries.
Your support is important for all these children who are beginning to build their future through education.
